Perhaps Today!
What To Expect When You're Expecting
Why “Perhaps Today”?
The concept behind the name of this online community (Perhaps Today) stems from a long history in Christianity. In this lesson, author and speaker Daniel T. Adams takes an expedition into God’s Word in order to explore such a concept ad explain why this name was chosen for this site.
Perhaps Today is focused on the end result of life, not just the journey of the life itself. Much like a woman who is pregnant with child, there are many signs in this life – or childbirth pains – that serve as reminders of the hope that we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible promises that Jesus will return one day to call home to himself, all those who have put their faith and trust in him. That moment of being caught up in the air with the Lord, to be glorified with the Lord in a bodily resurrection, and to meet with God, is the moment and culmination of all the childbirth pains of life giving way to the inexpressible and glorious joy that awaits those who call upon the name of the Lord (1 Peter 1:8 NIV). The example of a pregnant woman, with all the severe pains of childbirth, are overcome by the joy that is found when holding one’s newborn baby.
What To Expect Video Description
In this video lesson, Daniel takes a look at one main passage from the Bible in an attempt to answer the question about the Perhaps Today concept. What should you expect from this video? In this video you will explore the words of the apostle Paul (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NIV) to a church who, although they had belief that Jesus was going to come back for them, were confused and therefore in distress about some aspects of the Lord’s coming. We also see that Jesus uses the example of a pregnant woman in John 16:21 NIV to teach a concept about the things that we are expecting in life and how they drive the value and profitability of the things in our lives.
What Are Your Expectations?
In your day-to-day life, what are your expectations? What are the key elements that you put your hope into everyday? Are you expecting for the Coranvirus to be eradicated? Are you expecting that new job you really want? Are you expecting a relationship to take a turn towards a certain direction? Do you find yourself with no expectations or hope at all? Please be encouraged: there is hope to be found in Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you to turn to him and lay your burdens at his feet. There is no need to carry them anymore; his love is enough to take them for you. You can expect and know that he will walk with you every step of the way. And the greatest expectation and hope is knowing that you will one day be glorified with him in his heavenly kingdom, where there will be no more suffering, pain, broken hearts, or trials.
